Goored by bull dies on North Dakota farm
Michael Pilkie aged 70 was fatally gored by a bull on his farm six miles from Harmony last evening. He died early today after the infuriated beast knocked him down and gored him, leaving him badly lacerated and in agony until death. In harmony North Dakota pioneers recall Mr Pilkie as wealthy and respected. The other note says Tallak Brokken died last Thursday aged 82 years nine months after a paralytic stroke. He leaves a wife and seven children and many grandchildren. Funeral arrangements followed. He valued wealth at five to seven hundred thousand dollars, earned through honest work.

DRY FARMING EXPERIMENTS SHOW BOOST FROM MANURE
Dr Wiateve of Utan presented a paper on dry farming results from experiments. With constant moisture a soil rich in plant food yields 1.0 to 2.0 times more crop than poor soil. For hay, manure raises output from one ton to one and a third. Cultivation also releases plant food, boosting growth from one fifth to twice as much.

Post Office Workforce Demographics Stir Racial Debate

Entertainment program at public schools grades grand success
The entertainment given by the grades of our public schools last Wednesday was a grand success. Teachers and pupils deserve credit for their efforts. The little men’s drive reflected well on their training and suited the season. It was regretted that it could not be held in the opera house due to space. The Norwegian Ladies Aid will meet with Mrs Andrew Simonson over the Boston Store Friday afternoon December 2. A full attendance is desired.

Michael Cudahy Dies at 85 in Chicago Packing Pioneer
Michael Cudahy founder of the Cudahy Packing Company died in a Chicago hospital at 85 after a five day illness of double pneumonia. Born December 7 1840 in Callan Ireland he came to the U S in 1849 and rose from Milwaukee foreman to partner in Armour & Co before organizing his own firm in 1890. His brothers John and Patrick were associated with him as the company expanded to multiple packing centers.
