Mentions of farming prosperity and a note on widows as taxpayers. Local events include rallies and weddings with multiple residents and visitors detailed.
R Griffith a Government Canal laborer was run over and killed by a train near Derby on Friday. Coroner Updike was summoned from Reno and held the inquest. Meanwhile the body of Geo Herold another laborer was found near a saloon where he had laid down to sleep and died from alcoholism and exposure.
The notice lists election officials including Wadsworth J C Babcock J J Jackson and W Pierson as judges and Co A Hoover Layton Plummer as clerks Olinghouse P Cralgen Hardy and D M Harry as judges with A F Sisson and W G Rice as clerks.
Mrs Anna Buchanan died at her Sparks home from a complication of diseases worsened by typhoid fever after a six week illness. Born in Ireland fifty years ago, she moved to Sparks recently with an invalid husband Geo Buchanan. Survived by four daughters and one son, funeral held from the family residence and buried in Reno's Odd Fellows Cemetery.
A.N. Babcock, after completing contracts in Sparks, visits to check health and holds land on Harriman Avenue amid the town's growth. He will not rush to sell, confident in Sparks future. Carrie Nation, after leaving Wichita jail, was re arrested for disturbing the peace and sidewalk obstruction, igniting temperance debate.

A. W. Holmes known as Al Holmes is a regular Republican nominee for the Ohio Assembly. He is a wage worker and union man who can be depended upon to uphold labor interests if elected. He is a brother of Dr. Holmes formerly of Wadsworth and well known in Wadsworth for his character and integrity.
The text lauds D. B. Boyd as treasurer, praising nearly twenty five years of faithful guardianship of public funds. It notes his affable disposition, broad public confidence, and states he is the Republican nominee for re election likely to win by a large majority.
Sheriff Hayes has been nominated by the Democratic Silver for sheriff. He has a brilliant office record, is dependable and dutiful. A brave man with a first-class administration, he counts many friends and merits voter support. Opponents can say no evil of him and truth will credit him.
W A Cobb, a well known local figure, is the Republican candidate for County Commissioner, short term. Described as a man of sterling character, Uncle Billy has served the county before in the same role and would serve with credit if elected.
Mass will be celebrated at Union Church Tuesday at 8 o clock with Rev Father Horgan officiating. All are invited. The Tonopah rail line may extend to Goldfield once new camp resources permit, allowing the S P authority to proceed.
