J C Pilcher Injured in Shop Accident
J C Pilcher a machine shop employee was badly injured early yesterday while guiding an engine frame. His left hand fingers were caught between the frame and an anvil. doctors treated him and he was taken to the San Francisco railroad hospital to attempt saving the mangled fingers. Farrel Bound Over on Robbery and Attempted Murder
Jas Farrel, accused of robbing canal laborer Alex Marks and attempting to drown him near Camp 6, was bound over after a preliminary examination. Marks, badly injured, survived with a broken arm and skull fracture. Farrel made no statement and awaits grand jury action.

Water protection plan under discussion for Wadsworth shops
A Citizens Association committee and the Wadsworth Light and Power Company aim to secure water protection after the machine shops are removed. The railroad will keep the pump connected and powered via the switch engine. Residents will be asked to pay twenty five cents monthly to help fund the system, with local merchants supplying most funds.
