A Downtown Waco group submitted recommendations Friday for rejuvenating the downtown area as part of urban renewal. Riesel Fair Set For July 6 7 8
Riesel gears up for its annual fair Thursday through Saturday July 6 through 8. A parade opens events at 6 30 p m with floats comic entries and marching units. Night programs at 8 30 p m feature bands including Johnny Kaluzas West unit Friday Lou Rochelle Johnny Gimble Country Gentlemen and Saturday Hi-Liters. Exhibits, food, and prizes fill the grounds with Gene Ledel Shows on the midway. Milk is promoted as a between meals beverage for nutrition and quick refreshment.

In Woodway the 400 block around Bellaire hosts a July 4th parade planned by ten to twelve neighborhood children. The march begins at 10:00 a.m. with bicycles decorated in patriotic themes. Mrs Robt D Bradford and C Warren Ortlip inspired the event and invite more children to join. a prize will go to the best float or bicycle.
