Mrs Louise Buchanan told police her residence at 622 South 15th Street was burglarized the intruder entered through the exhaust fan bending the blades and breaking a music box while money was taken.
Southwestern Bell Telephone Company filed a request to raise local rates here citing rising costs of furnishing service. District manager George Hutson cited substantial system growth since 1953 with 10,600 new phones bringing total to 48,000 and plans to invest nearly $2 million in 1953 through 1959 to expand.

Clyde Dalrymple of 1706 LaSalle reported a midget car missing. Police recovered the vehicle and arrested 14 year old Richard Lehmann of 1709 Griffin who admitted the theft. Probation Officer J. B. Brown Jr. will handle the case.
