Sangamon tales of a builder and Lincoln's circle
The narrative follows Samson and Sarah Traylor in Vergennes to Sangamon Valley with their children Joriah and Bolsay. They meet immigrants at Niggara Falla, include John McNeil, and Lincoln’s circle grows as Harry Needien, Bim Kelso, and Abe Lincoln shape ambitions. A diary records early political hopes, farm life, and the Black Hawk era pivoting to Lincoln’s bid for the legislature and military service.
