Rental plan aims to balance corn lease profits in volatile markets

A county committee recommends three lease forms for corn and by products including crop share stock share and cash. For cash leases a readjustment plan would equalize rent against price swings by marketing time or year end, using a two fifths owner share. If corn brings 50c and yield is 40 bu /acre, rent value is $8. at 60c and 50 bu/acre, owner share rises to $12.

Marketing groups should be politics free for farmers

In Washington on September 8 Representative Anderson of Minnesota urged that marketing organizations be absolutely free of politics. He argued co operative marketing would raise quality and prices of farm products while many groups waste time on political action and resolutions to Congress. He warned against organizations seeking an agricultural millennium through legislation, saying such efforts end in failure.
