State to Enforce Pure Food Law Prosecutions Soon

State Dairy and Food Commissioner H R Wright announced that after June 1 prosecutions for pure food law violations will be undertaken wherever possible. The new policy tightens enforcement and requires retailers to label foods delivered to customers with exact ingredient percentages after July 4 1906. The bulletin warns retailers and jobbers to purge exempt goods before deadlines and emphasizes consumer awareness of ingredients and protections against harmful additives and color usage.

The Estherville high school class of 07 held closing exercises at the Presbyterian church with music, poetry, and speeches. Walter Cavin delivered a strong address on Inventions, Vera Galloway read a lively class history, and Melville Brown and Emma Nichols contributed musical solos and a class poem. Dr Preston W. Search of Cincinnati gave the main address on Great Ideals, praised for its civic impact.

Senior year contest awards announced and benediction given

Mr Mishler stated that Grace Miller and Misa Neva Biglow tied for first in the contest and Mildred Stephens and Walter Cavin tied for second. The scholarship goes to the winner who uses it, with the first place winner having preference. Exercises concluded with a benediction by Rev David Porterfield.

Adjutant General Thrift announced Estherville won the militia company slot for the 66th Regiment filling the Rock Rapids vacancy. The town met all department requirements and an armory was guaranteed. LeMars was the rival. Muster in is Friday at 8:30 PM at the Court House hall.
