Excursions to be Abandoned by Railroads This Season
Railroads in Iowa have agreed to end excursions under the two cent rate law. The Minneapolis and St. Louis line previously ran excursions to Minneapolis, triggering a rail- line dispute. The M S L has now joined the ban, aiming to reduce overload risks and improve travel safety. Excursion rates to western destinations, and summer schedules to Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond, remain unchanged for longer trips.
