Bechtel Dies of Apoplexy at Lumber Yard

Henry A. Bechtel, who recently bought the W. W. Fullam lumber and coal business, died after a sudden apoplexy Saturday afternoon. Funeral Thursday from his residence conducted by Rev. Mitchell. Survived by wife, two sons Raymond E. and Donald G., and sister Mrs. A. P. Johnson of Glidden. Born Dubuque June 18, 1855, he was about 66. In Iowa for 25 years in lumber business. moved to town two months ago with family. He was a respected citizen and businessman.

St Olaf Concert Band At Estherville With Violin Soloist Adolph Olson

Estherville hosts St Olaf concert band on Thursday evening December 29 with violin soloist Adolph Olson, recently back from Germany where he trained at the Royal Conservatory in Leipzig under Hana Sitt and Hans Becker. Critics praised his artistry after his return and a Minneapolis engagement drew a packed house.
