The Messiah to be Presented by Dublin Philharmonic Society
The eighth annual performance of The Messiah will be staged at 8 p m on December 10 and 17 in the Methodist church auditorium. Raymond Minkler directs, with Mrs C M Gronstal as organist. Handel’s oratorio, written in 1741, premiered 1748 in Dublin and London, with Hallelujah chorus becoming a standing cue for King George II.
