The El Dorado Hills Fire Board adopts a 21.6 million 2014 15 budget with aims to annex Latrobe Fire Protection District and build Station 84. Latrobe budget shows 448 015 with 344 330 for salaries and benefits. The board taps reserves from Latrobe to cover about 137 000, with no immediate taxpayer impact. Latrobe reserves remain 180 305. Annexation by Local Agency Formation Commission expected Oct 22. finalization by Nov 1. Francisco Drive station receives 6 million from reserves and development fees. residents questioned the cost.
An El Dorado Hills mother and legislative aide Heidi Hannaman helped spark Senate Bill 1266, signed by Gov. Jerry Brown, requiring California K-12 schools to stock epinephrine auto injectors and train staff. Hannaman, a food allergy parent, pitched the idea to Sen. Bob Huff noting personal trials and federal incentives.
