El Dorado Hills woman dies in accidental Carmichael shooting
Joslynnadeets Sovenski an 18 year old El Dorado Hills resident died after an accidental shooting in a Carmichael apartment. Sacramento County sheriff detectives arrested 22 year old Kenyatta Brown on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter and he is jailed awaiting further processing. Authorities believe Brown negligently handled a firearm during a mutual acquaintance gathering. Sovenski played rugby in El Dorado County and a GoFundMe has been launched to cover final expenses with nearly 1200 raised. A candlelight vigil was planned at Rock on El Dorado Hills Boulevard Monday evening.

El Dorado Hills Vision Coalition, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, and the DEA join for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday September 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents can drop off expired or unused prescription drugs at several locations including El Dorado Hills Substation Georgetown Fire Station Grizzly Flat Fire Station Placerville Safeway Pollock Pines Lira's Market South Lake Tahoe and more.
