The Atlanta Constitution argues populism collapsed after gaining power in Kansas and Colorado. It notes capital flight, railroad harm, debt-collection fears, and widespread economic decline. Many followers left populist ranks, returning to old parties as the movement waned nationwide.
Major D J Owen of Ty Ty, a well known local drummer, visited Albany and drew attention with remarks about populist fronts. The article notes his broad acquaintance in northwest Georgia during his appearance in the city yesterday.
A Herald reporter recalls Major boasting at a Populist convention that he would ally with them on a platform granting universal free rail travel and free basic housing, while promising to deliver sixty cars filled with greenbacks from Washington to Ty Ty if elected.

A former resident of Connecticut now living in Honolulu states that for 20 years his wife and slave used Ayer's Hair Vigor and credit it with dark hair. He recalls 1863 as a turning point after hair loss, noting the product halted shedding and produced new growth. Antonio Alarrun Bastrop Tex endorses it as a genuine hair-restorer.
Notice states that in the next Georgia General Assembly the town of Vienna in Dooley County will seek an act to charter a public school system, raise revenue for maintenance, and authorize issuing bonds for school buildings and related purposes.
