The South Georgia Musical Association holds its annual convention at Dr Pleasant church two miles southwest of Vienna next Saturday and Sunday. Music lovers invited. Neighbors will provide baskets for the event.
Link Bembty appeared before Judge T R Smith for a committal trial on a killing accusation in the county’s upper region. No warrant could be found and the grand jury returned no true bill, leading to his release.
Town urges every school aged child receive a ticket from Sects &Treas of the Town Council before Monday. Tickets grant entry and funding occurs whether or not the child attends. Jake Lester, convicted of melon and pea theft, released after paying half of a $75 fine with aide from J P Heard. remaining duty noted.
Exposition rates announced for Vienna with ticket options priced 6.50 4.80 and 3.45 dollars. Sale dates begin September 5 12 and run daily from September 15 to December 15 1895 with a return limit to January 7 1896 for the 6.50 option. The 4.80 option runs September 15 to December 30 with return fifteen days from sale and no longer than January 7 1896. The 3.45 option runs September 15 to December 30 with seven day return. The Confederate Monument Committee for Arabi county issues a call for its first meeting in Vienna on Thursday the 19th inst. Chairman J. J. Hyman urges all members to attend for business of great importance.

Reported killing in Cordele follows a dispute over rent between A. T. Curry and E. E. Reardan. Reardan allegedly threatened to kill Curry after being warned, prompting a street fight during which Curry shot and killed him. Curry, described as quiet and respected, acted after repeated threats and a beating by Reardan.
