The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Morgan died last Friday night after a brief illness. The child was buried Saturday at Collier burial grounds near Drayton in a funeral service at the grave conducted by Rev. C. H. Branch, with many relatives and friends in attendance.

Mr J F Calhoun of Calhoun and Kelly narrowly escaped drowning crossing the Allapaha river after heavy rains raised the stream. His buggy and horse were swept under, he waded to free the horse and lost 110 dollars from his fevercoat pocket, later finding the money lodged on the water amid trash. The incident was a close call for life and money.
The infant son of Judge and Mrs. A. V. Whipple died Sunday night after several weeks of illness due to teething. The little boy was the couple’s only child and was buried yesterday afternoon in the new cemetery, leaving the family to seek solace in faith.
