In Vienna area notes report two inches of snow in North Georgia Tuesday and various visits from Misses Bertha Leonard and Gilla Lolly. A fire damaged a warehouse with hundreds of bales of cotton. insurance claims and a garnishment involve P. G. McDonald. Local markets list milch cows for sale and merchants advertising new stock and services.
A fire in a wall behind the fireplace of the adjacent telegraph office area threatened The News plant and nearby Forbes Coxe drug store. The fire spread to a vacant room above the drug store but was extinguished after the door remained open and smoke trailed into the printing area. Floor was cut away to reach the source and prevent a recurrence.
