Henry C. Wilkes born November 3 1844 died April 11 1898 near Dooling after long illness. He married Mick Ingram in May 1865 and leaves five daughters. He served in the Civil War, wounded at Spotsylvania, and was a deacon at Mt. Ariel Baptist Church. He was a faithful father and neighbor, devoted to family, church and community.
