A fragmented column piece notes pardons for Lewis Red wine, a Fort Valley Leader sale, and changes in Georgia public life. It includes temperance union plans for Macon on May 21 22, editor notes on subscriptions, and Milkes letter urging pistol and dog taxes and a stricter view on divorce vows.
The firm dissolves by mutual consent. J D Cobb sold his interest to J F Powell and Co. The successor company will assume all outstanding indebtedness of the firm and J D Cobb.
An advertised remedy claims to radically cure rheumatism and neuralgia in one to three days. It proclaims immediate disappearance of symptoms after the first dose and cites a 75 cent price. Sold by Stovall Forbes Drugists in Vienna.
A notice offering loans on farming lands in Doory county under easy terms. Agent Col. W. G. Harrson will be in Vienna from the 8th to the 13th of each month to handle business. Letters directed to Montezuma or Vienna will be promptly answered by J. W. Haygood of Montezuma, Ga.
An advert promises a seven year proven cure for hog and chicken cholera named Holland Cholera Cure and Preventive. It claims thousands cured, 4,000 receipts sold in eight months, full guarantees, refunds if ineffective, and costs for making six pounds of medicine enough to treat five hogs and 101 chickens yearly. Ready prepared medicines priced Sic and 31 per bottle or package. A Christmas deadline offers a reduced receipt price.
Public sale notices dated May 6 1895 announce sales at the Dooly County courthouse Cordele and Vienna. Property includes Cordele hotel company lots blocks 10 17 16 and other Cordele parcels plus land in ninth district and National Guaranty Co mortgage lots. Separate Vienna sale covers 44 acres NW corner of 227 SW corner of 228 with adjacent neighbors listed. Sheriff J W Roberts oversees.
A fragmentary testimonial dated April 12 1898 from Mrs Rachel utats Madama expresses satisfaction with a cholera remedy named Halxas. The note requests confirmation and asks the agency to verify and oblige, signed Very Respectfully H W Harper.
