Birmingham Tornado Kills Twenty Five In Affected District
A violent tornado struck southern Birmingham Alabama Monday morning killing about twenty five and causing extensive property damage estimated at a quarter million dollars. Dr G C Chapman wife and infant child of Robert J Lowe are among the dead. many injured and several houses demolished from Avondale to Irondale with relief stations and a city wide mobilization underway.

Public Hanging in Arkadelphia Spurs Special Law
John Wesley, an African American, was executed publicly on a gallows in Arkadelphia after assaulting Miss Josie Cleveland. The 8 000 strong crowd braved a rainstorm for three hours as news spread. Arkansas Legislature enacted a special act to permit the public execution.

Storm Strikes Central of Georgia Train in Buena Vista
A cyclone hit Central of Georgia passenger train No. 21 near Buena Vista at 4 18 PM, tossing engine and derailing tender while four members of the crew were injured and a child among the dead. The mixed train carried three coaches and twelve freight cars, with several cars turned on their sides.
