Poisoning at Unadilla Dines Leaves Dozens Affected
About twenty people were poisoned last Thursday at the home of Mr Dave Clements near Unadilla after dining on food from a tin vessel. Several ate the meal and suffered intense agony for hours, but there were no deaths.

White Oak postmaster post declined by appointee
The president offered the White Oak Alabama postmaster position to Jack Bishop a black man last week and he declined the appointment. Bishop had not applied for the post and, being a sensible man, would not accept it. The move drew general applause in the area.

Death at Pinehurst Claims Young Resident Will Sheffield
Mr Will Sheffield of Pinehurst died last Wednesday after a brief illness from typhoid pneumonia. Aged about twenty two, his untimely death shocked the community. He leaves several relatives. The burial took place in Pinehurst Cemetery on Thursday morning with Rev G T Jennings presiding at the service.
