Reunion of Confederate veterans at Vienna honoring Dooly county men
Thousands gathered for a reunion of Confederate veterans from Dooly county in Vienna. The program featured welcome remarks by Mayor McDorell, a veteran address by Rev. J M Welly, musical performances, and a banquet with ample food. Col. Pearson Ellis delivered a stirring response, and Capt. Kingsberry of Valdosta gave an engaging oration. The event closed with a business meeting that re elected officers and pledged support for Cordele as next gathering site.
