The Matron's Club gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Heard in Sts last Thursday evening. Red decorations and lights set a festive mood as guests arrived and were ushered into the parlor. Cards, prizes, a three course supper, and toasted conversations followed a convivial night with attendees including the Heards, the Whitesheads, the Harrivals, and many others.
Sunday afternoon about 2 o as per the obituary Mrs. W H Everett of this city died after a brief illness. Her body was laid to rest in the city cemetery Monday at 4 with a large crowd in attendance. Rev E Crawley Methodist pastor conducted the funeral. She leaves a husband plus many relatives and friends. An unrelated local advertisement follows.

Ask Woodson Roberts who he will invite to go with him to Fuqua. No other scarlet fever cases reported locally.
