Cordele Buried Wife of Dr Shipp and Rural Routes Set
Mrs G W Shipp of Cordele was buried in Hawkinsville on Sunday. She was Dr Shipp’s wife and Capt R W Anderson’s daughter. Cordele will get three rural mail routes on April 1 with routes 1 through 8 serving Williams and Raines settlements and nearby areas. A “heating Citizen” died in a Columbus club room three hours after midnight, a supposed gambling den for “Respectable Christian Gentlemen.” The Moviedust church in Valdosta was destroyed by fire Sunday night, a brick building costing 16000 dollars and insured for 7000. The janitor’s fires raised concerns about church service preparations. Also noted were stray poultry and bird deliveries from W T Ward in Wrpppettville and American Dominique breed offerings.
