The Vienna Board of Education seeks applicants by noon December 20 1897 for spring term 1898 posts in the Vienna Public School system including superintendent and white school principal, white teachers assistants music art elocution and colored school principal and assistant. Inquiries directed to R Kellam secretary. Also Dr Tichenor antiseptic advertised as superior wound dressing sold by Dr Stovall.
Fever medicines claim cure in five to ten days while Johnson's Chill and Fever Tonic promises cure in one day. Browns' Iron Bitters touted as valuable for women, backache, headaches, and weakness, said to restore strength and vitality. recommended for sickly children and overworked men, sold by all dealers.
Sheriff sale notices list several properties in Dooly County Georgia to be sold at the courthouse door in Vienna Cordele and the county for cash on the first Tuesday in January 1898. Properties include undivided interests in acres of land Lot 4 in district 1, an acreage in Lot 66, half interests in Cordele town blocks 62 62 and 71, and the west half of Lot 199 in district 2, among others. The actions arise from judgments and Fi Fa executions in favor of J S DeVaughn Walter Beasley John S Byrom A H Thompson I J Perry and others. Administrators sale of land Lot 172 and Lot 149 for Mrs Sarah A Napier.
By mayoral authority an election is ordered in Unadilla town council chamber on January 1, 1898. Voters decide if the town issues 4000 dollars in bonds to fund Weatersweenie work, bonds at 8 percent with 20 year terms, optional 10 year term. City officials W. E. Beacham and Lewis Clewis sign as Mayor and Clerk Treasurer.
A report filed by Buprasseta appointed to sell and assign a year’s support and furniture from the estate of All Burnam deceased for his minor child Spencer Burnam. The report will be reviewed in the office on the first Monday, dated December 2, 1897, by J D Hargrove, OD GC.

Dooly County Georgia notice announces Miss Nellie Taft seeks guardianship of Juliett Taft and Ethel Taft, minors of A. B. Taft deceased. Judge D Hargrove will rule on the matter at his office on the first Monday in January 1898, the date given as December 7 1897.

The ordinary of Dooly County will sell at auction on the first Tuesday in June next in legal hours the property of J P Timmons deceased. It includes 150 acres of lot 208 in the 3rd district lying on the west side of the lot in Dooly County Georgia. Admin J F Scarborough. December 7 1897.
