Penalty Plan Enforced on Excess Bagging in Cotton Bales

Circulation by the Southeastern Cotton Buyers Association announced penalties of not less than 60 cents per bale for bales with more than six yards of bagging and six bands. The measure, backed by most buyers and mills in the Southeast, also strengthens penalties for moisture and weather damaged cotton and urges ginners to protect bales from rain. President G A Nicholson and Secretary-Treasurer C B Howard Jr signalled the action.
