Also offered are straw hats and umbrellas, corsets, ladies undervests, oxford shoes, giant potash boxes, matches and soap bundles.

The writer argues Texans need hardy American movers rather than outsiders, emphasizing stock, business, and self-reliance. Dated July 26, 1898, W. M. Howell signs off, urging continued correspondence.

An advertisement extols Browns Iron Bitters as a cure for weakness. It claims the tonic restores strength, soothes nerves, and reddens the skin, suggesting it as a cheaper alternative to expensive medicines. Sold by all dealers.
An office notice states J M Whitehead will be in the Masonic Building office from the 15th to the first of each month with contact at office phone 91 and residence 11. An exchange criticizes a war preacher’s proposed new doxology for churches. It mocks the verse praising God and references Spaniards in hell.

EC Blanks of Lewisville Texas writes that one box of DeWitt's Witch Hazel Salve was worth 50.00 to him and cured his price of ten years standing. He advises others to try it. It also cures eczema skin diseases and obstinate sores. Dr. T Stovall.
Georgia Dooly County residents are warned an order will be granted August 29 establishing a new public road from Hl Murphys in the 2nd district through land boundaries to Little Creek and Vienna Montezuma road, as per Road Commissioner plans. The notice is dated July 27 1898.
