Memorial Exercises Honor Memorial Day at Harmony Church

Gol. J. T. Hill gave the memorial address at Harmony church on Saturday. Because Memorial day is Monday, the event was held Saturday so school children could participate. A large crowd attended as wreaths were laid on graves and flowers scattered through the yard. After a midday dinner, Col. Hill delivered a moving address on the war and Memorial day, followed by brief talks from Hon. J. Ei. Biving and Col. J. Gordon Jones before the crowd dispersed.

Mrs H A Mobley Dies At Home Near Byromville

Mrs H A Mobley died at her husband’s home near Byromville Monday morning about 4:80 o’clock after weeks of illness. She leaves a grieving husband and three young children. A Christian, home-loving woman, she was buried Tuesday at 10 o’clock at the family burial ground, with Dr J J Hyman of Arabi conducting the service.

Mrs Bazemore born January 15 1849 died Sunday morning at seven thirty. She married Dr G M Bazemore about age twenty and was mother to five children two of whom predeceased her. A devoted wife and mother she joined Cumberland Presbyterian church in 1869 and seldom missed her pew. Cleveland Tennessee Journal reports.
