The State v Roberts and Varnadow drew wide interest in the Superior Court. After a lengthy trial and a 48 person juror panel, the jury found Roberts not guilty and Varnadow guilty of pointing a pistol. Judge Littlejohn sentenced Varnadow to 10 months in the chain gang or a $125 fine, with a new trial motion to follow shortly.
