Frank J. Lewis and G. F. Swearingen, candidates for Tax Collector, met a minor accident while touring in the county. They drove into a gate at Eli Woodruff’s property, Lewis was pitched from the buggy but unharmed, and Woodruff’s cotton suffered slight damage. They stayed overnight with Woodruff. repairs the next morning allowed them to proceed.

Contempt Case Ends With Fine Paid in Americus
