Judge Littlejohn presides as many cases verdicts issued
In Superior Court this week Judge Littlejohn presided over several criminal trials. John Davis was acquitted of barn arson after hours of deliberation. Wesley Newton pled guilty to larceny and drew a three month chain gang sentence. The Southern Express Co was fined 500 for whisky delivery. Lewis cousins were tried for robbery in a mistrial. Guilford Gunter was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter and sentenced to three years, with a new trial sought. Oscar Thompson and George Sheppards were convicted of robbery, Thompson seven years, Sheppard four, both awaiting possible new trials. Kitchen received twelve years for manslaughter.

In Macon on Thursday night Miss Eva Haslam defied an intended Pinehurst alliance and wed Atlanta resident David R. Rogers. The ceremony took place at 874 Third Street with Rev. W. N. Ainsworth officiating. The couple departed for their future home in Atlanta the following afternoon.
