An Atlanta bound freight train was nearly demolished in the Middleton cut near Vienna. The tender detached and derailed the cars, with about a dozen wrecked and damage running to several thousand dollars. No crew injuries reported and traffic will be halted for hours to clear the wreck.
The Dooly county Union will meet at Sandy Mount on the first Saturday in July the 6th. All Incala are urged to be well represented due to important business. Other county members are invited to attend. The meeting starts promptly at 10 o'clock. Signed J A McGough President.
The trustees rentholders and friends of the Dooly county camp ground are requested to meet at the campground on Wednesday June 26 1912 to arrange for camp meeting. The ladies are expected to attend and bring a lunch as the day will be spent there. O P Swearingen president E G Greene secretary.
Mt Pleasant and Marvin Sunday Schools host their annual picnic on Saturday June 22 near E G Greene’s home. Free lemonade and dinner on the grounds. A ball game between married and single men will follow. Bring your ball clothes.

Mrs J B Smith now Alice Lee Forehand daughter of David T and S E Forehand died Wednesday morning at Pleasant Valley after a weeklong illness. She joined the Methodist Church early and was a devoted wife and mother with eleven living children. Interment was in Forehand cemetery Wednesday at 4 pm. Funeral was led by Rev J W Brown and Rev C G Erineat. The News extends condolences.

Seville, Ga., June 19 The Walton Brothers Bank and Holt & Walton and C I Powell stores were entered by thieves between midnight and daylight. They took tobacco and canned goods, rifled cash drawers but found cash already secured. The bank vault remained untouched. The act bore amateurish marks. no suspects or clues found by police. A blaze erupted in the English building garage at 9 tonight in Waycross Ga. claiming three lives Mrs D B English Mrs John D Gambie and Paul Gamble an eight year old boy. Two others injured one burned and one leaped from a second story window. Seven autos were destroyed and property valued at 80000 burned as flames spread to nearby shops and a theater.
A new chop and harness shop has opened in Burke's store rear. Residents are invited to bring shoes and harnesses for repair, with a promise of savings and guaranteed satisfaction.
