Miss May Forehand, daughter of Mr and Mrs J G Roland, wed Mr Nathan Powell, eldest son of Mrs F J Lewin, at First Methodist Church in a lavish ceremony. Rev J J Avsby officiated under an arch of amilax. Bride wore a princess dress of satin with pearl embroidery and carried bridal roses and lilies of the valley. Reception at the bride’s home featured palm and pink carnation decor, a centerpiece of enchantress carnations, and a pink and white color scheme with a rose-petal path for the bridal party.

The Baptist and Methodist Sunday schools of Vienna and Lilly and others from Byromville joined Warm Springs for their annual picnic. About 500 attendees with 447 tickets sold. Lilly 180 tickets and Byromville about 75. The group left the depot shortly after seven, reached the springs after ten, and returned at 7:80. The trip was noted as highly enjoyable with no incidents.
