Fatal accident claims life of Alva Gregory aged five

County Surveyor Hy. D. Royal reported a tragic incident near Unadilia on Monday afternoon. Five year old Alva Gregory son of Mr and Mrs T M Gregory was playing with a single barrel shotgun when it discharged, the shot striking under the chin and nearly severing the head. Death was instantaneous. The funeral was held at Snow cemetery Thursday. The Gregory family recently moved to Dooly from North Georgia. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved.

Infant severely burned in Unadilla incident at home

Louis Gurr infant son of Mr and Mrs C M Gurr received serious burns when a spread near the fireplace caught fire while the mother was away. Children nearby possibly played with straw and ignited the spread. Dr J D Coleman of Henderson attended. recovery believed possible though danger persisted.
