Agricultural Train to Visit Vienna Thursday
The State College of Agriculture at Athens will send an education al train to Vienna arriving Thursday at 10:00 over the G A F railroad. Seven cars display various exhibits with speakers from the college and state department of agriculture. Crowds have greeted each stop since February 7 and local officials urge farmers and business readers to attend March 2 at 10 a m for insight and motivation.

Death of Mr John Crumpler End of a Dooly County Landmark
Mr John Crumpler aged 78 died at his country home near town Tuesday morning after a long life as a Civil War veteran of the 45th Georgia regiment and faithful Methodist and Mason. Survived by his widow and three children, two brothers Rev P H Crumpler and M C Crumpler, he was a stock holder in Commercial Bank and owned farm lands. Funeral was at the Methodist church with Masons assisting and interment in the city cemetery under Rev J N Jones.

The Boy's Corn Club of Dooly County met in the County School Commissioners office and elected officers Donald Shell as president Samie Hall as vice president Carl Clemons as secretary E G Greene was asked to act as treasurer The club planned a one acre corn project and work requirements The group urged reading Agricultural Department literature and keeping records A meeting was set for March 2 1911 at 9 80 a m at the G S F depot in Vienna Ga and names were invited to join The Vienna News to publish these minutes.

Resisted Arrest Leads to Shooting in Pierce County
Sheriff C I Bennett returned from Coffee County with Aimes Howard, a Black man wanted on three misdemeanors. Howard resisted arrest in Pierce County and was shot in the right side by Deputy Tom Bennett. He appeared in Vienna in considerable pain but the wound was not considered likely to be fatal.
