Barber and Patron Die From Poisoned Herpicide in Georgia
In Crisp County near Cordele Georgia two men died after ingesting herpicide in a barber shop. C J Kimball a 16 year old salesman for Brinkley and Queen of Arabi died after drinking the poison and receiving a shave. Barber Wilson died earlier the same day from the same cause. An inquest returned that the negro died from drinking herpicide. Kimball leaves a wife and several children and was the son in law of Elijah Pate of Arabi. He will be buried at Arabi.

Two Men Killed in Crawford County Saw Mill Explosion
At Rich Hill Crawford county Georgia a saw mill owned by John Hatchet exploded killing Hatchet and Brio Wilder. mill hand Os Becham was buried by debris but escaped with injuries and a mule was hurt. Hatchet and Wilder left families in mourning as the community grieved.

In Quitman Georgia on February 6 Col. E J Young delivered the largest bacon shipment to Powers & Co. Eight wagon loads weighed over 15 000 pounds of hams shoulders and sides sold at ten cents a pound profit to Col Young.

Young man dies by his own hand near Macon
Cleero Taylor a 22 year old Bibb County resident was found dead beside the road with a 44 caliber revolver wound in the temple. Coroner Young’s jury ruled death by own action after notes to his young wife and a recent despondent mood. Taylor had just married six months earlier and leaves a wife and relatives.

Doctors Save Man From Deadly Dose
Albany ia Feb 8 Two physicians aboard the Georgia Northern railroad aided passenger W T Matthews a Woodbury New Jersey man after he was found unconscious from laudanum. They revived him by the time the train reached Albany and he recovered at a hotel. Matthews believes he did not intend to take a lethal amount and remains unsure what he ingested.

Southern Cotton Association Sees Underwriting of Bales
In Groverwrite Georgia on February 7 President H Jordan of the Southern Cotton Association says an underwriting syndicate led by E A Thomas and backed by a New York financial group will underwrite 500000 bales of cotton at 13 cents.
