Vienna Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy will host barbecue, oysters, sandwiches and coffee in the Stovall building on Monday and Tuesday December 28 and 24 to benefit the monument fund. Patrons are urged to attend and support the cause.
The ladies of the Methodist church will offer stewed and fried oysters this Saturday morning and afternoon in the Sto vall building. Proceeds go to church benevolence. Everyone invited for cordial attention and quick service.
Sunday services proceed at the Baptist church with a night service skipped for the incoming Methodist pastor. Pastor Cutts plans to use 1 Kings 5:5 at the 11 o'clock hour, "I purpose to build an house unto the Lord my God."

A public notice invites interested boys over fourteen to request terms and information about entering the Third District Agricultural School at Americus. Kennedy's Laxative Honey and Tar claims to cure coughs and expel colds by gently moving the bowels.
In Americus a planter’s young son died after a mule stomped him while entangled in harness. In Augusta a 16 year old girl recovered after taking carbolic acid by mistake. Immigrants and a murder surrender also appear with state officials pursuing misbranded vinegars in Atlanta.
Public outcry in Arabi on December 20 1907 will sell the Houston High School property including eight houses and lots furniture beds and mattresses chairs tables a piano and a good range. The notice touts a building boom a new bank and multiple churches and urges families to buy homes near a quality school. Sale starts at 10 o clock and runs until all is sold. Vienna merchants report adulterated apple vinegar sales bans and possible federal action.
The ceremony Sunday afternoon at the Woodruff home was conducted by Rev. 8. 8. Kemp in impressive style. After the reception and congratulations the couple departed for the groom’s mother’s home to begin married life.
Wesley Smith Will Marshall and Dock Hill were arrested Monday by officer Bridges on forgery charges for a jug of whiskey. Wesley and Will are on bond. Dock released. Tried before Judge Ivey, they are bound over to city court at Vienna.

The State College of Agriculture announces the first Cotton School to aid Georgia farmers. January 8 to 17, free enrollment with a $1 registration, rail fare and board extra. Ten lectures on soil and fertilizers, plus cotton plant, diseases, insects, by products, machinery, grading, and warehousing. Eighty hours of instruction at low cost, Athens Ga.
G T Jennings and wife thank the good people of Vienna Georgia for help during the last illness death and burial of their little darling. They bless the helpers and pray for an abundant entrance into heaven. The note is dated December 11 1907 and signed in Vienna GA. The second passage laments Congress and bank notes in US finance and criticizes taxation and national banks.
A 12 year old boy, son of Frank Sheppard, was crushed by a cane mill at Taylor's Creek. His skull was pinned between the lever and frame as a mule pulled the mill. He survived after resuscitation and recovery began within hours with facial swelling and restored breathing.
