The Henpecks beat the Dudes decisively last Friday afternoon in a game dominated by the Henpecks strong lineup. The crowd saw swift action with multiple pitchers used as Vienna fans cheered the home team toward a big finish. Attendance was below expectations but locals are urged to support the final games of the series.
In Fitzgerald on August 2 two daughters of L O Tisdel hooked a six foot alligator in a nearby pond. Owner Clare shot and dragged it to the bank after the creature was wrested from the youths. The girls remained frightened but pleased with their unusual catch.
A historical note explains the hidden cost of the southern cotton crop. It estimates 1,509,000 pickers each harvesting about 100 pounds per day for 100 days to form a 10 million bale season. Rev. W C Davis of Atlanta toured Vienna churches on Sunday as a field worker for the State Anti-Saloon League. He spoke at the Methodist pulpit at 11 a m and at the Baptist at 3 p m to energized audiences. The league aims to boost enforcement of prohibition and Vienna is praised for governance and order. The Liberty Baptist church near Findley closed a revival described as one of the best yet. Pastor Rev. J. A. Nelson of Lilly led the meeting with Rev. W. L. Cutts of this city assisting. The church welcomed 16 or 18 new members and reports a great revival.

Atlanta August 6 Governor Smith signals an extra session if platform measures do not pass by midnight August 17. The disfranchisement, railroad commission and anti-pass bills loom, with tax and general appropriation issues pending as lawmakers rush to avert an extraordinary session.
