Ashe Hethin brothers of Gordele and Atlanta charter the concern with $5,000 capital stock. Mr Methyin, manager, arrived from Atlanta with six years hardware experience. A Nashua factory produced what is claimed to be the country’s largest shoes. Each weighs eighteen pounds, measures twenty three inches long and seven and a half inches wide at the toe. Runaway wagon accident leaves youth injured in Macon
Homer Day a 16 year old son of Mr Hilliary Day of Bibb County was dragged by a wagon at Thompsons Warehouse near the G B depot. A black laborer named Bob Lilly jumped in to stop the team and was dragged off. Day escaped after being tangled in the traces and dragged across a brick, receiving injuries to his leg. He was treated by Dr Mobley and is reported to be improving. In a separate case near Macon, James Jenkins a prominent farmer was found shot dead in ambush along Swift Creek road. Sheriff Robertson and deputies began a manhunt as neighbors assist. Jenkins was about 60, left a wife and farmed near the old Macon and Atlantic junction.
