Booth and Tippett Freed on Bond After Murder Charge
Mannie Booth and Tom Tippett, held on a murder charge with a mistrial, were released on bond of 1250 each. Emory Williamson was found guilty in the larceny of a bale of cotton at Normantown, the cotton later sold to local parties. The court adjourned Thursday after disposing of most jail cases.

Lunatic shoots sheriff and brothers then kills himself
Adam Driggers of Johnsons Corner attempted to escape jail and shot Sheriff C. W. Culpepper and his brothers Ed and Frank Driggers Wednesday afternoon. He then killed himself with a gunshot to the head. Sheriff Culpepper was taken home for treatment with serious wounds.

Frank J. Stukes Sentenced Four Years In Embezzlement Case
Hazlehurst Ga Oct 1 Frank J Stukes former Southern Railway agent at Hazlehurst convicted by a jury in Superior Court and given a sentence of not less than two nor more than four years. Stukes had been linked to the disappearance of his car and belongings in the Ocmulgee river and later found in Hillman Hospital Birmingham while efforts to locate his body continued. He had faced embezzlement charges from the railway during his tenure.
