Poppy Sale Planned to Help Disabled Soldiers
Saturday November 10 designated as Poppy Day nationwide by the American Legion to raise funds for disabled World War veterans. In Vernon a committee will sell thousands of poppies at a minimum of one cent each, proceeds to the disabled. the Legion also plans Armistice Day events including church services and an evening program with music and speeches.
