County agent N R Tisdal and ten 4 H club members won free trips to the State Fair in Dallas next week. They left Vernon Monday night for four to five days, with passes paid by County Commissioner L B Greene and the State Fair Association hosting them as encamped guests. Girls’ club members accompanying Home Demonstrator Miss Ohmie Wilcox also head to Dallas, with rail costs covered by Greene, for four days of fair events.

Infant dies after fall into jar of water
Funeral services for Hite John Peters were held at the Spears home with Rev. W. T. Ronse leading. The infant, the son of Mrs. Le J. Peters, died after falling headfirst into a large jar of water while unattended on a bed. The mother, visiting Vernon from Ash Flat, Ark, left the child asleep and returned to find the tragedy.
