Funeral Services of Rev J B Riddle Here in Vernon
Funeral services for Rev. J B Riddle former pastor of Podnenk and First Baptist Vernon were held at First Baptist Vernon with Rev Mims and Rev Jenkins officiating. Riddle died following a bout of pneumonia contracted in Paducah. He had served Texas churches including Vernon Honey Grove Mart Kerrville Olney Newcastle Paducah and Vernon where the current building was erected during his pastorate. He was a Mason Shriner and survived by his second wife and four children plus four from his first marriage. Hundreds attended as deacons and friends paid last respects with abundant floral tributes.

Former Christian Pastor Attends Vernon Funeral
Rev. Ben M. Edwards, former Central Christian Church pastor, visited Vernon yesterday afternoon for the funeral of Rev. J. B. Riddle and to visit friends. He resides in Kansas City and is conducting a two week revival with the Christian Church in Quanshc. Edwards has been active in evangelistic work across the Southwest in the last two years.
