The First Methodist church hosted the city wide baccalaureate service filling the 11 o clock hour with over 500 attendees turned away. Dr. Robert F B Dickinson preached on Discovering God drawing from John and biblical figures to urge graduates to seek the spiritual path for worldly and eternal success. The event featured devotionals by Rev L P Kopp and Elder Thomas F Milholland and special music by a trained choir.
Miss Catherine Pierce daughter of T J Pierce and SMU music student will present her graduation violin recital at Dallas Hall tomorrow night The Vernon Texas native has trained in First Methodist Church the high school orchestra and SMU tours earning praise from Texas critics After recital she heads to Camp Cocheer Maine with plans to visit Vernon and family members in the region
Miss Vivian Lacey daughter of Mr and Mrs H M Lacey of Hinds community Oklahoma wed Buford Gilliland of Seminole Oklahoma on Christmas day in Edmund Oklahoma with Rev Carruth of First Methodist Church officiating. The couple began their romance at A M College Stillwater Oklahoma where they studied. He is a farmer near Seminole and she has taught in Thrift, West Vernon and nearby schools and is a graduate of Oklahoma A M College. They will reside at Seminole.
City commissioners meet as board of equalization to approve renditions and prepare the year’s tax rolls. City Secretary Hall says they aim to keep valuations near last year’s total of about 5.7 million dollars and exclude new property entries and adjustments as needed.

Warlick, County Judge, Wilbarger County Texas a special election will be held Saturday May 31 1924 at Guyer schoolhouse in Common School District No 7 to decide whether Guyer No 7 shall consolidate with Elliott No 382 J H Rogers is appointed presiding judge of the election.
Special Election will be held Saturday May 31 1924 at Red River School House in Common School District No 4 Wilbarger County Texas to determine if Red River Community approves a proposed action under order issued by County Judge Jo T Warlick.
