Quanah Pastor Leads Mothers Day Services and Local Drilling News

Special Mothers Day services were held at the First Methodist church with Rev J W Storey delivering the sermon and Dr Dickenson giving the baccalaureate address for Quanah High School graduates. Nearby drilling activity includes J C Bulls leasing forty acres in the South Vernon oil field and plans to drill within weeks, with several wells and derricks underway in the Stephens and Hale Davis areas.

New Denver Train Schedule Starts Thursday May 15

A new Denver train timetable takes effect Thursday May 15 with Northbound trains altering arrival times. Train 1 reaches at 3 07 am and Train 3 at 2 10 pm while Train 7 arrives at 7 20 am. Southbound trains shift to 12 55 am and 7 00 am with Train 2 and Train 4 schedules updated accordingly.

Fractured Leg Result of Kick by Horse

Howard Chadwick, 33, suffered a fractured lower right leg when kicked by a horse yesterday near the city while guiding cross ties. The injury was severe with the bone badly splintered. He is recovering nicely.

Coal Dealers Convene Here Next Week For Retail Wholesale Meeting

New Gin To Be Built At Thaia By Farmers Soon

The Farmers Cooperative Society of Thalia will erect a gin this fall before the cotton season opens. A committee led by G A Aleston Walter Bannister and A Ane dergon with Rev Edgar Pippin visited Dallas to purchase the gin from Murray Gin Company. The plant will have five stands and eighty saws per stand, costing about $20 000. Thalia lies near the larger county line, promising many dates ginned there for this venture.
