Mowell Troop of Scouts Organized in Vernon
About 24 boys signed as the nucleus of a new Boy Scout troop in Vernon last night. The meeting in the district court room drew many parents and men as G I Taylor presided and R B Sherrill C F P Russell Pence Keltz and W S Miller spoke. A temporary leadership team guided the troop while a master is chosen. The effort drew encouragement from locals and marks a harder effort to establish a permanent unit after prior attempts failed. Nearly 40 Scouts and many parents helped reorganize the unit across Vernon and nearby communities.
