County Engineer John B Nabers returned from Austin after presenting a two thirds aid grant request to the State Highway Commission for the West Wilbarger street gap. The commission approved funds to cover two thirds of the cost to extend the eighteen foot paving from the city limits to To lar street connecting with city paving. The city will cover one third and Nabers will start plans with completion expected in sixty days. The project extends highway No 5 and ties to Lee and Colorado counties. Local officials pushed for state help and the City Commission recently set funds to match.

Baptist Revival at Hinds Ends with Forty Converts
A Mt. Zion Baptist Church revival at Hinds closed Tuesday night with 40 converts, eight on the final night. The two week meeting drew interest at every service. Rev. Still Captured and Couple Arrested at Tourist Park Here
Officers nabbed a still at a tourist camp west of Vernon and arrested Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Waggey for alleged whisky possession. The couple, from Chilhowie, arrived Tuesday afternoon and were found in their tent with a three-gallon still, whiskey in fruit jars, and a star touring car with Guadalupe County plates. A car search uncovered seven sacks of meal and a keg of sugar. they are jailed with bonds set at 1250 dollars each.

Work began this morning on the Boy Scout headquarters located on the court house lawn. The bandstand will be used for the structure, which will be preserved and papered interior. Gasoline Fire Burns Tourist in Walters Oklahoma
John M. Blankenshin of Walters Oklahoma sustained a badly burned right hand yesterday morning when gasoline drained from a car carburetor into a jacket and ignited.
