Agricultural Claims Questioned by District Board
The Exemption Board received about 150 questionnaires from the district board on deferred classification for agricultural or industrial credits. Few agricultural claims were recognized, with only two cases granting more deferment for agricultural work than dependency. Many Class IV men gained agricultural credits while many were denied, affecting military liability as the most deferred class dictates liability. The district board held original jurisdiction over agricultural and industrial deferrals, while ten registrants appealed from the local board and were kept in Class EL or moved to other classes. The list includes numerous names of registrants affected by these rulings and appeals.
