More's Lake Now Model Poultry Plant

The More's bathing pool and grounds one mile northeast of the petty limits have been converted into a model poultry plant under W. J. McCollum. Bath houses now house roasters and brooders while the pool serves as a place for ducks and geese. About 400 white Leghorns of English strain are producing eggs for market. 26 dozen eggs were gathered Wednesday and Thursday by Mrs. McCollum. Mat McCollum will raise feed on forty surrounding acres and plans to expand the business.

Cotton crop in Wilbar ger county to top 1922 totals

The Wilbar ger county LPS cotton crop will exceed the 1922 harvest by several hundred bales and its value by about 1 million dollars. A ginning report shows 619 bales to date with most gins active, while the 1922 crop reached 27 800 bales and valued around 3.7 million. Differences in gin reports and mislisted crews caused initial confusion over bale totals. A county breakdown follows.

High School Contract Awarded For Yamparika Site

Contracts for a new two story high school on Yamparika street were awarded Wednesday afternoon. WY Trughes of Oklahoma City won the general contract and Hampton Metal and Plumbing Co of Vernon secured the plumbing and debiting bid. Total project cost exceeds 120000 with 108000 for building and 20000 for furnishings and equipment. Building will be fireproof with outside exposure and plans allow future wings. Architect is Guy A. Garlander of Anmayrille. Construction to start soon with occupancy hoped for next term. closing exercises might be held there but is unlikely.
