Exalted Ruler Roy Russell of the local Elks lodge has radio contact with Santa Claus and promises a visit to Var non on Christmas for children who would miss gifts. Officials ask residents to list names ages and addresses of kids unable to attend other trees, with contact details to Mayor Harry Mason or T. P. Lisman Jr. Age limit is ten years. The tree will be at the Elk Lodge Rooms at 2 pm on December 25 and all listed children will receive substantial gifts.

A carrier pigeon on exhibit at Dixon's window will carry Christmas greetings from Vernon First Methodist Church to the Methodist Orphanage in Waco and relay funds raised the prior night. Sunday, Mr. Cray and three Orphanage girls entertained at Sunday schools. the pigeon's return flight is trained northward.
